Former Chelsea and England footballer Dennis Wise recently joined cast members from Les Misérables and The Phantom of the Opera onstage at the Queen's Theatre to give some footballing tips prior to their charity football match on 2nd August at Bromley Football Club (see pictures below, click to enlarge).

Les Mis V Phantom sees West End stars playing alongside celebrities and professional footballers. Killian Donnelly (Kinky Boots), Kerry Ellis (Cats), Rachelle Ann Go (Miss Saigon), Carrie Hope Fletcher (Les Miserables), John Owen-Jones (Sweeney Todd) and Gerónimo Rauch (The Phantom of the Opera) will all perform during a pre-match concert from 1.30pm. The world's first musical super-group, Boys of the Barricade, will also perform.

The game kicks off at 3pm. Having coached the England ladies team to their victory over Germany and bronze medal at the World Cup, Mark Sampson will manage team Phantom whilst ex-West Brom manager Alan Irvine will manage team Les Mis.

Players include: Southampton legend Francis Benali and goalkeeper Paul Jones; Soap stars Jonny Labey (EastEnders/In The Heights) and Ayden Callaghan (Hollyoaks/Emmerdale). James Ward-Prowse, the England under 21 captain, will also join the line-up, with further names to be announced.

There will be fun for all the family, with face painting, a bouncy castle, stalls and a raffle as well as refreshments.  The event raises money for MAD Trust, and a donation will be made to Macmillan Cancer Support in memory of Les Misérables wig mistress Melanie Oakley-Dow.
