Full casting confirmed for Anything Goes; meet the cast

Following last night's gossip, producers of Anything Goes have confirmed full casting for the show's run at the Crucible Theatre in Sheffield and UK Tour. 

The musical will star Debbie Kurup (Reno Sweeney, pictured right) and Matt Rawle (Billy Crocker) alongside Stephen Matthews (Lord Evelyn Oakley), Zoë Rainey (Hope Harcourt), Simon Rouse (Elisha Whitney), Hugh Sachs (Moonface Martin) and Jane Wymark (Evangeline Harcourt).

The cast is completed by: Michelle Andrews (Ensemble), Adam Dutton (Purser / Ensemble), Anouska Eaton (Angel), Jack Evans (Ensemble), Bob Harms (Ship's Captain), Victoria Hinde (Ensemble Angel / Purity), Lauren Jade (Ensemble / Angel Charity), Rebecca Jayne-Davies (Female Ensemble Passenger), Michael Lin (Ensemble), Nick Len (Luke), Dylan Mason (Ensemble), Joanna Lee Martin (Ensemble), Ryan Pidgen (Ensemble), Adam Rhys-Charles (Ensemble), Rohan Richards (Ensemble), Andy Yau (John) and Alex Young (Erma). 

The production opens at Sheffield’s Crucible Theatre on 8th December (previews from 28th November) and runs until 17th January. The 33 week tour of the UK and Ireland begins at the New Wimbledon Theatre on 29th January 2015. 

From 6th April 2015, when the production arrives at the Opera House in Manchester, the roles of Evangeline Harcourt and Moonface Martin will be played respectively by Kate Anthony and Shaun Williamson.

When Billy Crocker discovers that his heart’s desire, debutante heiress Hope Harcourt, is engaged to an English aristocrat, he stows away aboard the S.S. American to win her back. Aided by the string of eccentric passengers on board the luxurious transatlantic liner, can this love triangle be untangled before they reach Southampton?

Artistic Director Daniel Evans directs Cole Porter’s "uplifting masterpiece of song, dance and romance". The score features: 'I Get a Kick Out of You', 'You’re the Top' and 'It’s De-Lovely'.

Debbie Kurup returns to Sheffield Theatres to play Reno Sweeney – she previously appeared in Guys and Dolls. Her theatre credits include Nicki Marron in the world première of The Bodyguard (Adelphi Theatre - Olivier Award nomination), Chicago (Cambridge/Adelphi Theatres), Oliver! (Cyprus International Festival), Sister Act (London Palladium), I Love You Because (Landor Theatre), West Side Story (Cyprus International Festival), I Sing! (Union Theatre), East (Leicester Haymarket Theatre), Tonight’s The Night (Victoria Palace Theatre) and Rent (Prince of Wales Theatre). For television,, her work includes He’s Having a Baby; and for film,Hollow and Beauty.

Matt Rawle returns to Sheffield Theatres to play Billy Crocker – he previously appeared in Assassins. His theatre work includes Pippin (Menier Chocolate Factory), Cabaret (UK Tour & Savoy Theatre), The Three Musketeers (Rose Theatre Kingston), The Light in the Piazza (Leicester Curve), Putting It Together (Chichester Festival Theatre), Hard Times (Theatre Royal Haymarket), Baghdad Wedding(Soho Theatre), Zorro (Olivier Nomination – Garrick Theatre), Les Misérables, Miss Saigon (both West End), Camelot, A Midsummer Night's Dream (Regent’s Park Open Air Theatre), Carmen (Steven Joseph Theatre), Evita (Adelphi Theatre), and Into The Woods(Donmar Warehouse). For television, his work includes Coming Up.

Zoe Rainey plays Hope Harcourt. Her theatre credits include The Return of the Soldier (Jermyn Street Theatre), The Famished Land (Greenwood Theatre), John Ferguson (Finborough Theatre), Oh! What A Lovely War (Theatre Royal, Stratford East), Dancing at Lughnasa (Royal & Derngate and Oxford Playhouse), Finding Neverland (Leicester Curve), School For Scandal (Theatre Royal Bath), She Stoops To Conquer (National Theatre), Wicked (Victoria Apollo Theatre), Hairspray (Shaftesbury Theatre), and Parade (Donmar Warehouse). Her film work includes Mr Holmes and Cinderella.

Simon Rouse returns to Sheffield Theatres to play Elisha Whitney – he previous appeared in The Full Monty (also tour and Noel Coward Theatre). His other theatre work includes The Bomb, Tactical Questioning (Tricycle Theatre), When We Are Married (Garrick Theatre), A Midsummer Night’s Dream (London Festival), The Changing Room (Royal Court and Duke of York’s Theatre, West End),Ghosts (Alhambra Theatre), ‘Tis Pity She’s a Whore, Lorenzaccio, Coriolanus, Antony and Cleopatra, Titus Andronicus (RSC), Runaway,The Sea (Royal Court Theatre), and Sweet Bird of Youth (Theatre Royal Haymarket). For television, his extensive credits include The Duping Ground, Broadchurch, The Increasingly Poor Decisions Of Todd Margaret, The Bill (series regular Jack Meadows), Dead Romantic, Minder, Sheppey, St Joan, Blood Royal: William The Conqueror and Crime and Punishment; and for film, Butley, Pop Pirates, Parker and The Ragman’s Daughter.

Hugh Sachs returns to Sheffield Theatres to play Moonface Martin. He previously appeared in The Cherry Orchard and The Country Wife. His other theatre work includes Woman Killed with Kindness, Peter Pan (National Theatre), See How They Run (Royal Exchange),Humble Boy (UK tour) and Privates on Parade (Donmar Warehouse). His television work includes The Interceptor, Family Tree, Benidorm (series regular Gavin), City of Vice, Him and Us, Housewife 49, The Catherine Tate Show, Prime Suspect and Perfect Strangers; and for film, You Will Meet a Tall Dark Stranger, The Nutcracker: The Untold Story, Like Minds, The Libertine and Love, Honour and Obey.

Jane Wymark returns to Sheffield Theatres to play Evangeline Harcourt, having previously appeared in Racing Demon as part of theDavid Hare Season. Her other theatre work includes Medea (National Theatre), This May Hurt a Bit (Out of Joint), All My Sons (York Theatre Royal), Short Sharp Shock (Royal Court and Theatre Royal Stratford East) and Hamlet (Old Vic). Her television work includesSinchroncity, Midsomer Murders (series regular Joyce Barnaby), Underworld, The Peter Principle, Rob Roy, Pie in the Sky and No Bananas; and for film, All Men are Mortal and The Fool.

Kate Anthony plays Evangeline Harcourt on tour from 6th April 2015. She is currently in rehearsals for Queen Coal at Sheffield Theatres. Her other theatre work includes Untold Stories (West Yorkshire Playhouse), Rutherford and Son (national tour and St James Theatre),All the Way Home (The Lowry), The Cherry Orchard (Aldwych Theatre), The Mousetrap (St Martins Theatre), Perfect Pitch (Hull Truck Theatre and national tour) and Romeo and Juliet (Hull Truck Theatre). For television, her work includes Father Brown, Little Miss Jocelyn, Judge John Deed, Totally Frank and As Time Goes By, and as Auntie Pam in Coronation Street. She recently took the leading role in her latest film - Wavelengths, which has already secured several industry awards.

Shaun Williamson plays Moonface Martin on tour from 6th April 2015. His theatre credits include tours of Porridge, Never Forget, Guys and Dolls, Saturday Night Fever (also Apollo Victoria) and The Road to Nirvana (King’s Head Theatre). He is perhaps best known for his role as Barry Evans in EastEnders – his other television work includes Plebs, Houdini, Scoop, Funland, Life’s Too Short, Episodes, London’s Burning and Waiting for Godot; and for film, Daylight Robbery and The Invention of Lying.
