It has been announced that The Night of Electric Voices will be staged at the London Coliseum on Sunday 1st March 2015.
Presenting a night of musical theatre, the show will star top performers from London and New York alongside the soloists of the City of London Philharmonic and the West End Chorus.
Since 1999 The Night of 1000 Voices has delighted capacity audiences whilst supporting various charities. In 2015, The Night of Electric Voices will be a celebration of rock musicals and will move for the first time to London’s largest theatre.
The evening will see performances from Adam Pascal (Broadway’s RENT and Memphis), David Michael Johnson (We Will Rock You in Germany) and Kerry Ellis (currently starring as Elphaba in Wicked, pictured above) who is known as the first lady of the West End.
Sir Tim Rice will introduce the concert which will feature music from Jesus Christ Superstar, We Will Rock You, The Rocky Horror Show, Chess, RENT, Hair, Little Shop of Horrors, Tommy, The Lion King and Spring Awakening.
Since 1999, over half a million pounds has been raised by The Night of 1000 Voices for The Caron Keating Foundation, The Missing Person’s Helpline, The Lord’s Taverners, The National Autistic Society and ADDISS, the Variety Club Children’s Charity, Leukaemia & Lymphoma Research, and The Alan Jay Lerner Fund for Cancer Research at The Royal Marsden.
In 2015, The Night of Electric Voices will once again be for the benefit The Alan Jay Lerner Fund for Cancer Research at The Royal Marsden. The Royal Marsden Cancer Charity exists solely to support The Royal Marsden’s pioneering work in cancer research, diagnosis, treatment and care. Its lung unit runs the largest portfolio of clinical trials in the UK and it places a high priority on the development of new drugs and treatments. Clinical trials are expensive to run, but they are the only way The Royal Marsden are able to develop more effective drugs and technologies.
With musical directors Stuart Morley, Kevin Amos and David Firman , The Night of Electric Voices will again be devised and directed by Hugh Wooldridge. Other international guests will be announced in January 2015.
