Judith Kerr's beloved tale of a very hungry tiger is brought to life in a magical, musical production adapted and directed by David Wood OBE.

Sophie and her mummy are at home in the kitchen when suddenly there's a ring at the door, who could it be? A tiger? Surely not. But it is a tiger and a very hungry one at that, proceeding to eat and drink everything in the house!

The Tiger Who Came To Tea is a highly interactive production; children will love joining in the songs and counting along with the cast - not to mention joining in the Tigerobics! Yes I did participate and I was exhausted afterwards... while the children joined in with gusto and were still energetic afterwards!

The cast of three are perfectly suited to their roles - Abbey Norman is very cute as little Sophie, Jenanne Redman is a believable Mummy and Matthew Dudley is a towering figure of a man as Daddy (and the tiger). But (unsurprisingly) the tiger steals the show. The costume is fantastic - I mean he was a tiger. A larger than life orange and black tiger!

The set is very impressive and not one child could work out its secrets. The tiger guzzles everything in the kitchen and the audience watch as it disappears... we're still not sure how they did all of it .

The final part of the show was a bit slow, but the ‘Yummy Yummy Sausages' number was easy for the children to pick up and join in. The Tiger Who Came to Tea may be for younger children, but it's still a really enjoyable production and a brilliant adaptation of the book.

I was accompanied by 10 year old Dylan who added: "The play was truly amazing! The costumes were awesome and decorative. My favourite part was when they went shopping and they went round a table with an empty shopping trolley and when they got back it was full! In total it was one of the best plays I have seen."
