West End Frame: Full casting announced for Porgy and Bess; first pictures released

Full casting has been announced for Porgy and Bess which opens at the Regent’s Park Open Air Theatre next month.

Porgy and Bess opens on Monday 28th July (previews from 17th July) and runs until Saturday 23rd August. The show is directed by the Regents Park Open Air Theatre’s Artistic Director, Timothy Sheader, with a book adapted by Suzan-Lori Parks and a musical score adapted by Diedre L. Murray.

The production stars Rufus Bonds Jr as Porgy and Nicola Hughes as Bess, with Phillip Boykin as Crown, Cedric Neal as Sportin’ Life and Sharon D Clarke as Mariah. Take a look at the first pictures of Nicola Hughes, Rufus Bonds Jr and Phillip Boykin below (click on picture to enlarge).
