Clint Eastwood's film adaptation of Jersey Boys has released an exclusive video introducing The Jersey Boys and giving a behind-the-scenes glimpse of the movie. Watch the video below.
John Lloyd Young (pictured right) leads the cast of the film as Frankie Valli. The star previously won a Tony Award for creating the role on Broadway and recently reprised his performance in the West End production. Erich Bergen stars as Bob Gaudio, who wrote or co-wrote all of the group’s biggest hits. Michael Lomenda and Vincent Piazza star respectively as Nick Massi and Tommy DeVito, two original members of The Four Seasons. Oscar® winner Christopher Walken plays Gyp DeCarlo.
The film tells the story of four young men from the wrong side of the tracks in New Jersey who came together to form the iconic 1960s rock group The Four Seasons. The story of their trials and triumphs are accompanied by the songs that influenced a generation, including “Sherry,” “Big Girls Don’t Cry,” “Walk Like a Man,” “Dawn,” “Rag Doll,” “Bye Bye Baby,” “Who Loves You,” and many more.
Jersey Boys premiered on Broadway in 2005 and transferred to the West End in 2008. The musical has now been seen by over 19 million people worldwide and is firmly established as one of the West End's longest running and most popular shows, where it continues to play at its new home of the Piccadilly Theatre.
Michael Watson recently took over from John Lloyd Young as Frankie Valli in the West End production and yesterday it was announced that Tim Driesen will originate the iconic role in Jersey Boys' first ever UK Tour which launches in September 2014.
Jersey Boys is released in cinemas on Friday 20th June 2014.
