Fame UK Tour cancelled due to poor ticket sales

The current UK tour of Fame has been cancelled. The production, which was scheduled to tour the UK until Saturday 18th October 2014, will now close this Saturday (28th June) at the Kings Theatre in Glasgow.

Steve Potts (for Bill Kenwright Ltd) said: "It is with considerable regret that it has become necessary to curtail the current tour of Fame the Musical. Fans of the show have been thrilled by this new production, which has enjoyed a five month run, but in a difficult economic climate and with World Cup fever it simply hasn’t attracted a wide enough audience.

"Our heartfelt thanks go out to the cast, crew and creative team, the Fame audiences, and the theatres and theatre managers who have been incredibly supportive."

Bill Kenwright's new production was re-imagined for 2014 audiences. The cast includes Jodie Steele as Carmen Diaz, Harry Blumenau as Schlomo Metzenbaum, Sarah Harlington as Serena Katz, Alex Jordan-Mills as Nick Piazza, Molly Stewart as Mabel Washington, Alex Thomas as Tyrone Jackson, Sasi Strallen as Iris Kelly, Joseph Giacone as Joe Vegas, John Canmore as Mr Scheinkopf, Alexandra Sarmiento as Grace ‘Lamchops’ Lamb, Ross Lee Fowkes as Goodman ‘Goody’ King and David Haydn as Mr Myers. Gary Lloyd directs.

We send our best wishes to all those working on the Fame UK Tour. The company are extremely talented and clearly destined for big things.

  1. Thanks for sharing this post! Must compare online ticketing sites with ticket sales in UK to buy or sell online sports, music or theatre tickets.

  2. I went to see this new show and it was so disappointing! You can't re-imagine Fame! it is all about the leg warmers! Hope it isn't lost forever!
