Nathan Amzi returns to Rock Of Ages

Nathan Amzi is returning to Rock Of Ages for two nights only. Having previously understudied Lonny in the West End, Amzi will reprise his performance in the show's UK touring production tonight and tomorrow (Monday 5th/Tuesday 6th May 2014).

Writing on Twitter, Amzi said: "I came up to Manchester to watch @rockofagesuk & now I'm playing Lonny... Who's coming to rock out?"

The star was recently seen competing on BBC1’s The Voice. Prior to Rock Of Ages he performed two seasons at Shakespeare's Globe in The Merry Wives of Windsor including touring to LA, New York and around the UK. He is currently in rehearsals for the UK premiere of In The Heights which begins performances at the Southwark Playhouse this Friday (9th May 2014).

Amzi's other theatre credits include: Eddie/Dr Scott in The Rocky Horror Show (West End/Tour), Wolf in Hansel & Gretel (Theatre Royal Stratford), Roy Rustin in Alan Ayckbourn’s A Small Family Business (Watford Palace) and Miss Saigon (UK Tour). He is also a respected producer (Amzi Entertainment), recently producing Scott Alan’s acclaimed concert at The IndigO2. 

Ben Richards and Noel Sullivan lead Rock Of Ages' touring company as Stacee Jaxx and Drew Boley alongside Stephen Rahman-Hughes who is currently unable to play Lonny due to sustaining an injury. 

Writing on Twitter, Rahman-Hughes said: "Dearest followers. Unfortunately due to injury I shall not appear this evening in @rockofagesuk Manchstr I hope to be back for you soonest." A second message reads: "Thank you for the lovely messages. It'll be a few days before I will know when I can get back onto the stage. I'll be in physio this week."

Daniel Fletcher (Dennis) and Rachel McFarlane (Justice) are reprising the roles they played in the West End production. Cordelia Farnworth (Sherrie) and Cameron Sharp (Franz) play roles they understudied in the West End. 

New cast members include: Jack Lord (Hertz), Jessie May (Regina), Tom Andrew Hargreaves (Joey Primo) and Rakesh Boury (Mayer). Abigail Climer, Imogen Brooke, Kylie Michelle Smith, Russell Smith, Chris Southgate, Stephen Rolley, Tara Verloop and Charlotte Anne Steen complete the cast.

The Rock Of Ages UK Tour runs in Manchester until Saturday 10th May 2014. The show will then tour until November 2014, visiting: Birmingham, Edinburgh, Torquay, Nottingham, Bromley, Bradford, Aylesbury, Bristol, Stoke, Liverpool, Sunderland, Glasgow, Brighton, Milton Keynes, Woking, York, Southampton, Dublin, Belfast, Hull, Cardiff, Oxford, Sheffield, Southend and Wimbledon.
