There are only thirty-two days left to pledge for Kerry Ellis' new album. The West End star has already achieved an impressive 93% of her final goal from 570 pledgers on www.pledgemusic.com.
Last year Ellis headlined a concert at the London Palladium and, with the help of her fans, she plans to record and release an album featuring the songs she performed including standards, musical favourites, Queen songs and some new compositions. A portion of album profits will be donated to the Born Free Foundation.
The album is expected to be released later this year. Anyone can visit www.pledgemusic.com to pre-order the album and choose from some exclusive rewards, including the Gold Dress Ellis wore at Proms in the Park (£1,000 pledge), a Kerry Ellis answer phone message (£12 pledge) and tickets to attend a tour rehearsal (£125 pledge). Kerry Ellis tote bags, mugs and t-shirts are also up for grabs.
Since understudying Martine McCutcheon in Cameron Mackintosh's production of My Fair Lady in 2000, Kerry Ellis has gone on to have the most incredible career. She originated the role of Meat in We Will Rock You and was the first British actress to play Elphaba in both the West End and Broadway productions of Wicked.
Ellis has also starred in some of the West End's most iconic shows, her credits include playing Ellen in Miss Saigon, Fantine in Les Misérables and Nancy in Oliver. She has also worked closely with Queen’s Brian May over the years. Together they have released several albums and toured the world multiple times.
Ellis will tour the UK in October. Visit www.kerryellis.com for further information. Visit www.pledgemusic.com to pledge for the album and help Kerry reach her goal!
