It has been announced that Gary Lucy will lead the new touring company of The Full Monty. The cast also includes Andrew Dunn, Louis Emerick, Rupert Hill, Martin Miller and Bobby Schofield, with further casting to be announced.
The Full Monty opens at the Manchester Opera House on Monday 15th September (previews from 11th September) before touring the UK until 23rd May 2015. Take a look at Gary Lucy posing for promotional images below (click on picture to enlarge).
The Full Monty has been adapted by Oscar-winning writer Simon Beaufoy from his own screenplay about a group of unemployed steel workers who form a troupe of male strippers.
Gary Lucy (EastEnders/Dancing on Ice winner) stars as ‘Gaz’. He is joined by Andrew Dunn (Dinnerladies/Bremner, Bird and Fortune) as ‘Gerald’, Louis Emerick (Brookside/Last of the Summer Wine) as ‘Horse’, Martin Miller (New York production of The Lovesong) as ‘Dave’, Bobby Schofield (making stage debut) as 'Lomper’ and Rupert Hill (Coronation Street) as ‘Guy’.
Roger Haines directs. Design is by Robert Jones, with choreography is by Ian West, lighting by Tim Lutkin, sound by Ben and Max Ringham and casting by Sarah Bird.
Directed by Daniel Evans, the original production of The Full Monty premiered in Sheffield ahead of its first UK Tour. It transferred to the Noel Coward theatre, but its West End run was recently cut short.
