Matilda extends booking period to May 2015

The West End production of Matilda The Musical has extended its booking period at the Cambridge Theatre to Sunday 24th May 2015. 

Over one million people have seen the Royal Shakespeare Company's production since it opened at The Courtyard Theatre in Stratford-upon-Avon in November 2010. After winning a record-breaking seven awards at the 2012 Laurence Olivier Awards, Matilda  transferred to Broadway's Shubert Theatre, winning four Tony Awards. The show has now received a total of 49 awards in Stratford-upon-Avon, London and New York.

Matilda was commissioned by the RSC and played to sold-out audiences at the RSC's The Courtyard Theatre in Stratford-upon-Avon for twelve weeks from November 2010 to January 2011. The production transferred to London's West End on Tuesday 25th October 2011 where it recently celebrated its 1000th performance on 23rd March 2014.

The New York production of Matilda, produced by the Royal Shakespeare Company and The Dodgers ,has just celebrated its first anniversary on Broadway. The show began previews in March 2013 at Broadway's Shubert Theatre.

Cara Jenkins, Lottie Sicilia, Tasha Chapple and Lollie Mckenzie currently share the title role in the West End production. The adult cast is led by Haley Flaherty as Miss Honey and Alex Gaumond as Miss Trunchbull.
