The Finborough Theatre has announced its upcoming summer season.
The season will begin with two classic rediscoveries from Northern Ireland. Following the success of the Finborough's rediscovery of St John Ervine's Mixed Marriage in 2011, the theatre will now present the first English production in nearly 100 years of his Ulster tragedy John Ferguson, playing 20th May - 14th June 2014. It is accompanied on Sundays, Mondays and Tuesdays between 25th May -10th June 2014 by the first London production for more than 40 years of Stewart Parker's classic 1970s drama Spokesong.
In June the theatre will stage a play and a musical - two premieres of the best new writing from the United States. The world premiere of Kevin Kautzman's multi-award-winning new play, Dream of Perfect Sleep, runs 17th June - 12th July 2014; whilst, Hostage Song, the European premiere of the Off-Off Broadway indie rock musical from New York artists Clay McLeod Chapman and Kyle Jarrow plays on Sundays, Mondays and Tuesdays between 22nd June-8th July 2014.
The season comes to a close with the UK premiere of Noël Coward's play This Was A Man, playing 15th July - 2nd August 2014; accompanied by a world premiere from Liverpool playwright Dameon Garnett, 17, playing on Sundays, Mondays and Tuesdays between 20th - 29th July 2014.
The Finborough Arms pub has now reopened and is earning much acclaim for its carefully curated changing selection of craft beers and ciders.
As previously announced, Thérèse Raquin transfers to the Park Theatre in August following its sell out run at Finborough and a original cast recording of Ivor Novello's Valley of Song will be released shortly.
