The Book of Mormon has been voted as the Funniest West End show! Voting opened for the first 2014 West End Frame Award on Monday 3rd March and closed yesterday (13th March). Ten West End shows were nominated, you can view the full result below.
From South Park creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone and Avenue Q co-creator Robert Lopez, The Book of Mormon, winner of nine Tony Awards including Best Musical and the Grammy for Best Musical Theatre album, follows a pair of Mormon boys sent on a mission to a place that's a long way from Salt Lake City.
The musical, which received six Olivier Award nominations earlier this week, opened in the West End to rave reviews last year. Cast member Ashley Day won the West End Frame's Understudy of the Year Award last summer for understudying Elder Prince in the production.
The West End Frame Awards combine new and long-running plays and musicals into the same categories. Voting opens for one award at a time throughout the year. Voting for 'Best Performance of a Song in a Musical' will open next month.
