It has been confirmed that the West End production of Spamalot will conclude its run at the Playhouse Theatre on Saturday 12th April. Headlong's 1984 will transfer to the Playhouse following its run at the Almeida Theatre from 28th April.
Lovingly ripped off from the 1975 film Monty Python and the Holy Grail, Spamalot opened at the Playhouse Theatre in November 2012. The production currently stars Joe Pasquale, Bonnie Langford and Daniel Boys.
Robert Icke and Duncan Macmillan's production of 1984 transfers to the Playhouse for a limited 12 week run, officially opening on 8th May. It is a co-production between Headlong, the Almeida Theatre and the Nottingham Playhouse based on George Orwell's dystopian novel. 1984 finishes its current run at the Almeida on 29th March.
The cast includes: Mark Arends, Tim Dutton, Stephen Fewell, Christopher Patrick Nolan, Matthew Spencer, Gavin Spokes, Mandi Symonds and Hara Yannas.
