Ryan Molloy to leave Jersey Boys next month

Ryan Molloy has announced that he is leaving the West End production of Jersey Boys. He will play his final performance as Frankie Valli on Sunday 9th March 2014 after six and-a-half years in the role.

A message on the performers Facebook Page reads:

Bye Bye Baby!

You ready now?.....Although I’ve been the big man in town (London) for more than 6 years and everybody knows my name, it’s time to walk like a man into the night.
Whilst breaking up is hard to do, I’ve had an offer that’s too good to be true (to be announced soon!)
A massive part of me says - let’s hang on to what we’ve got and I know some people are beggin and saying oh won’t you stay…..but remember…… big girls don’t cry so, don’t cry for me and think that the sun ain’t gonna shine anymore.
Just remember who loves you pretty baby x

Thank you all for your support over the last 6 years, I’ve got lots planned for 2014 and look forward to seeing you all at future gigs and shows. Big love to you all Ryan xxx

Ryan's final performance coincides with Jersey Boys' last show at the Prince Edward Theatre. The production will re-open at the Piccadilly Theatre on Saturday 15th March 2014. Later this year the musical will also launch its first UK Tour to run alongside the London production.

It is not yet known who will replace Ryan in the sought after role. However, Jon Lee, who currently plays Frankie at certain performances, and current Dutch Frankie, Tim Driesen, who is appearing in the London production this week, are possible replacements.
