William Houston replaces Iain Glen in Fortune's Fool at the Old Vic

Iain Glen has been forced to withdraw from Fortune's Fool at the Old Vic due to illness. A statement on the Old Vic's website reads: 

Unfortunately Iain Glen is unwell and has been advised by his doctor to withdraw from Fortune’s Fool in order to regain his full health. We are delighted to announce that William Houston will be taking on the role of Kuzovkin and in the meantime, Iain’s understudy, Patrick Cremin continues to give a sterling performance. Everyone at The Old Vic wish Iain a speedy recovery and thank William for stepping into the role at short notice.

Iain Glen's extensive theatre credits includeThe Crucible (RSC/West End), Hedda Gabler (Almeida/West End), A Streetcar Named Desire (National), The Blue Room(Donmar/Broadway), Martin Guerre (West End), Henry V (RSC), Macbeth (Tron Theatre),Hamlet (Bristol Old Vic) and Road (Royal Court).

Houston has played Troilus in Troilus and Cressida as well as the title roles in Henry V and Coriolanus, all for the RSC. His film credits include Sherlock Holmes and Elizabeth: the Golden Age.

Fortune's Fool, which also stars Richard McCabe, runs at the Old Vic until 22nd February 2014.
