It has been announced that To Kill a Mockingbird will return to the Regent’s Park Open Air Theatre next year due to popular demand. The production will conclude next year's season with a limited run from 28th August until 13th September 2014. The "must see" show will then embark on a UK Tour.
To Kill a Mockingbird will once again be directed by the Regent’s Park Open Air Theatre's Artistic Director Timothy Sheader, from a stage adaptation by Christopher Sergel of Harper Lee’s Pulitzer prize-winning classic.
To Kill a Mockingbird opened the theatre’s 2013 season to critical acclaim and sell out performances, with Robert Sean Leonard (Dead Poets Society, Fox TV’s House) in the role of Atticus Finch. Casting and UK tour dates will be announced in due course.
Regent’s Park Open Air Theatre’s 2013 season has been the venue’s most successful season ever, with over 180,000 people having attended so far – an increase of 40,000 on the previous highest attended season in 2011. Due to public demand the current production of The Sound of Music featuring Charlotte Wakefield as Maria and Michael Xavier as Captain Von Trapp has been extended to 14th September.
Further details of Regent’s Park Open Air Theatre’s 2014 season will be announced in the coming months.
