Tommy Steele to star in Scrooge UK Tour

It has been announced that Tommy Steele will once again play the title role in Scrooge, this time in Bill Kenwright’s touring production of the seasonal musical.

Tommy Steele most recently played the role at the London Palladium which sent him into the record books as the star to have headlined more performances than any other performer at the London Palladium. A prestigious plaque was mounted at the iconic theatre to honour this extraordinary achievement.

Tommy’s legendary career also includes over twenty hit singles, Hollywood movie hits such as The Happiest Millionaire and Finian’s Rainbow, and countless award winning stage musicals such as Half a Sixpence, Hans Andersen and Singin’ in the Rain.

Based on Charles Dickens’ heartwarming story A Christmas Carol, Scrooge The Musical is the perfect heart-warming family treat: with stunning sets and costumes, specially created illusions by magician Paul Kieve (acclaimed for the magic effects in the Harry Potter films) and a fantastic musical score which features Leslie Bricusse’s Oscar nominated hit Thank You Very Much.

The tour will open at the New Wimbledon Theatre on Wednesday 23rd October, running until Saturday 26th October, before visiting Birmingham, High Wycombe, Southampton, Leeds, Blackpool, Brighton and Llandudno.
