It has been confirmed that Jersey Boys will transfer from the Prince Edward Theatre to the Piccadilly in March 2014. The show, which charts the true story of Frankie Valli the Four Seasons, recently celebrated its fifth London birthday at the Prince Edward, having opened there in March 2008.
It is heavily rumoured that either the West End transfer of Newsies or the return of Miss Saigon will open at the theatre next year. This is yet to be confirmed.
Jersey Boys originally opened on Broadway in 2006, receiving the Tony Award for Best Musical. As well as Broadway and the West End, it can currently be seen in Las Vegas, across the United States on its US National Tour, as well as in Perth, Australia. It will open soon in Cape Town, South Africa and the Netherlands.
Viva Forever closes at the Piccadilly Theatre later this month, before Dirty Dance runs at the theatre for a limited season until February 2014.
