West End stars to perform songs from shows/roles they would never be cast in as part of charity concert

The next WestEnd Fest concert will take place on 14th July 2013 at St Paul's Church in Covent Garden. The theme for the upcoming concert, which is in aid of CRY UK, is 'Mis-Cast' which will see some of the biggest West End stars sing songs from a show or role they would never be cast in.

WestEnd Fest was created last year by Parnell Page and Sabrina Aloueche who wanted to create a charity concert with a difference. WestEnd Fest is a very relaxed event which features performances from musical theatre performers, recording artists, comedians, magicians and dance troupes. The audience are also given the opportunity to bid for prizes in charity auctions, purchase exclusive WestEnd Fest merchandise and participate in singalongs.

Previous WestEnd Fest concerts have raised money for a student to attend Mountview (he is now about to enter his second year), Cystic Fibrosis Trust as well as Cry UK. Cystic fibrosis is a life-shortening inherited disease which affects almost 10,000 people in the UK. Cry UK are the only UK-wide charity making a daily difference to the lives of people with cystic fibrosis as well as those who care for them.

Parnell Page and Sabrina Aloueche chose the charity in memory of a young performer called Matt Beadle.  During a break from starring in Starlight Express he went on holiday. With no warning his heart failed and he passed away. It is now his family's wish that every West End show offers heart screenings to every cast member prior to signing contracts as cystic fibrosis can be treated successfully if diagnosed early.

Speaking to West End Frame during a recent interview, Sabrina Aloueche said "WestEnd Fest is my baby! WestEnd Fest introduces new performers to West End audiences. We have comedians, dance troupes and magicians as well as upcoming recording artists alongside West End stars. It’s exciting to have so many unique acts under one roof. WestEnd Fest is so much fun and the audiences just keep coming back, we have regulars now!"

The full lineup consists of Sarah French, Sabrina Aloueche, Alice Fearn, Stephanie Fearon, Katie Bernstein, Amanda Coutts, Tori Allen Martin, Kayleigh Stephenson, Lauren Varnham, Niamh Perry and Jodie Jacobs as well as Michael Watson, Alistair Brammer, Craig Mather, Scott Garnham, Ian Stroughair, Adam Bailey, Kieran Brown, David Ribi, Matt Wycliffe, Aaron Sidwell, Nial Sheehy, Greg Oliver, Jamie Muscato and Jordan Lee Davies.

In an exciting twist Parnell Page and Sabrina Aloueche are looking for an extra singer to join the line-up. If you would like to sing a duet with any of the participating performers submit a video of you singing to the WestEnd Fest Twitter page (@westendfests). The selected singer will be announced on Wednesday 12th June.

Parnell Page is a singer/songwriter with over two million hits on YouTube. He has three EP's available to download on iTunes and is currently working on the fourth. Sabrina Aloueche is a West End star who made  her debut as Young Cosette in Les Miserables. She went on to star as Eponine in the production and also played the role in the 21st Anniversary concert. She played Scaramouche in We Will Rock You for over three years and most recently starred as Jenna in Sleeping Arrangements at the Landor Theatre.

Viva Forever star Simon Adkins is hosting the evening while musical direction comes from Scott Morgan whose new musical 'Geek' recently received its world premiere at the Tristan Bates Theatre.

The next WestEnd Fest takes place at St Paul's Church in Covent Garden at 8pm.
