Viva Forever sees 220% ticket search surge following axe

Viva Forever has seen an increase in online ticket searches following the announcement of its closure earlier this week. The show, which was written by Jennifer Saunders, will make a loss of at least £5 million when closes on 29th June 2013

It is presumed that fans have rushed online to buy tickets for the remaining shows causing a 220% increase in online ticket searches, according UK ticketing site StubHub

Speaking of the closure, The Spice Girls said "We want to thank the cast and all the fans for their support, and although Viva Forever won't continue in the West End we are thrilled that the thousands of people who came to the show had as much fun as we did."

Viva Forever! is a romantic comedy that tells the story of a family thrown into chaos as Viva and her three best friends get swept up in a TV talent show where stars are born and dreams are shattered. The show features the hits of the Spice Girls and a script written by Jennifer Saunders.

Viva Forever opened at the Piccadilly Theatre on 11th December 2012 and was previously booking until February 2014.
