Michael Ball, Kerry Ellis, Gina Beck and David Shannon to perform at Kenwood House later this year

It has been announced that two time Olivier Award winner Michael Ball is to host and perform at “Summertime - An Evening of Gershwin” as part of the Live by the Lake concert season which is set to take place in the majestic setting of Kenwood House on Sunday 1st September. Michael will be joined by theatre royalty Kerry Ellis as well as West End favourites Gina Beck and David Shannon. Michael Ball has starred in countless West End and Broadway shows. Just a few of his theatre credits include Edna Turnblad in Hairspray (West End and UK Tour), Count Fosco in The Woman in White (Broadway and West End), Alex Dillingham in Aspects of Love (Broadway and West End), Raoul in Phantom of the Opera (West End) and Marius in Les Les Misérables (West End). Michael recently won the 2013 Olivier Award for Best Actor in a Musical for playing the title role in Sweeney Todd (West End and Chichester),

Since understudying Martine McCutcheon in Cameron Mackintosh's production of My Fair Lady in 2000, Kerry Ellis has gone on to have the most incredible career. She originated the role of Meat in We Will Rock You and was the first British actress to play Elphaba in both the West End and Broadway productions of Wicked. Kerry has also starred in some of the most iconic West End shows, her credits include playing Ellen in Miss Saigon, Fantine in Les Misérables and Nancy in Oliver! Kerry has also worked closely with Queen’s Brian May over the years. Together they released an album entitled Anthems and have toured the UK several times.

Gina Beck is currently starring as Glinda in the West End production of Wicked at the Apollo Victoria Theatre. A few of her many theatre credits include Letitia Hardy in The Belle's Stratagem (Southwark Playhouse), Maria Von Trapp in The Sound of Music (Plenary Hall, Kuala Lumpur), Kate Hardcastle in The Kissing Dance (Jermyn Street), Christine Daaé in The Phantom of the Opera (Her Majesty's) and Cosette in Les Misérables (Queens). Gina was a soloist in the 25th Anniversary of Les Misérables at the O2 Arena and recently appeared in the Les Misérables film directed by Tom Hooper.

David Shannon has played some of the most iconic leading roles in the West End including Jean Valjean in Les Miserables, the title role in Sweeney Todd, Jesus and Judas in Jesus Christ Superstar, Chris in Miss Saigon and most recently The Phantom in Phantom of the Opera. David was nominated for best actor at the 2001 Olivier’s for creating the role of John Kelly in Andrew Lloyd Webber’s The Beautiful Game at the Cambridge Theatre
