An Evening of Movies and Musicals transfers to the West End for one night only starring John Owen-Jones and Louise Dearman

Following four sell out concerts across the UK, it has been announced that An Evening of Movies and Musicals is transferring to the West End in December 2013 for one night only at the Apollo Victoria Theatre! The concert will star John Owen-Jones and Louise Dearman.

An Evening of Movies and Musicals debuted in early 2012 at St David’s Hall in Cardiff. Featuring the music of John Williams, Hans Zimmer, James Horner and many more, the show has sold out every date thus far and received glowing acclaim from press and public alike. The show has previously starred Ruthie Henshall, Peter Karrie and Nathan James.

West End legends John Owen-Jones and Louise Dearman will be joined by the West End Gospel Choir and Welsh musical theatre actress Sarah Lark, guiding the audience through hits from the best-loved musicals. This show will be the ideal way to begin Christmas celebrations, with a specially themed Christmas section for the festive period.

John Owen-Jones is an award winning West End and Broadway performer, best known for playing Jean Valjean in Les Miserables and the title role in Phantom of the Opera. At the age of 26 he became the youngest actor ever to play the role of Jean Valjean in the West End, going on to play the same role on Broadway. John has also released two critically acclaimed albums, Unmasked in 2012 and John Owen Jones in 2009.

He recently performed in New York where he appeared in a special gala performance of The Phantom of the Opera to celebrate the show’s 25th year on Broadway. John is in the unique position of being the only actor to have the opportunity to reinvent Valjean and The Phantom - two of the greatest roles in musical theatre history. 

Louise Dearman is the first (and only) actress to have played both Glinda and Elphaba in Wicked. Her other theatre credits include playing Sarah Brown in the national tour of Guys and Dolls, Lucy Harris in the UK national tour of Jekyll and Hyde and Eva Peron in the UK touring production of Evita.

Louise has released two albums, 'You and I' in 2005 and 'Here Comes The Sun' in 2012 (receiving a five star review from West End Frame). She appeared as a special guest on Ramin Karimloo & Lee Mead's UK Tours in 2012.

The evening will be hosted by the one and only Christopher Biggins.
