Wicked UK Tour breaks Box Office records

It has been revealed that the upcoming UK Tour of Wicked has already broken box office records! The Milton Keynes Theatre has announced that in its first week of tickets going on sale, the musical has broken box office records with the highest grossing ticket sales in the theatre’s history.

Michael McCabe, Executive Producer (UK & Ireland) of Wicked commented: “We are all delighted to have broken Box Office records at the Milton Keynes Theatre and would like to thank all the venue staff as well as the ticket buyers themselves for helping us achieve this incredible milestone”.

Wicked has already been seen by over 36 million people around the world and has 6 productions running concurrently. The West End production is now in its 7th year at London’s Apollo Victoria Theatre, where it is already the 16th longest-running West End musical of all time.

Based on the acclaimed novel by Gregory Maguire that ingeniously re-imagined the stories and characters created by L. Frank Baum in ‘The Wonderful Wizard of Oz’, Wicked tells the incredible untold story of an unlikely but profound friendship between two sorcery students. Their extraordinary adventures in Oz will ultimately see them fulfil their destinies as Glinda The Good and the Wicked Witch of the West.

The UK Tour of  Wicked visits the Milton Keynes Theatre from Tuesday 4th February 2014 until Saturday 8th March 2014.
