There will be an added note of celebration during tonight's performance of Let It Be at the Savoy Theatre as the company will perform tracks from The Beatles' first album, Please Please Me, marking the 50th anniversary of the album's release.
Audiences will be entertained with timeless Beatles hits from their debut LP, including I Saw Her Standing There and Twist and Shout. Please Please Me was recorded at Abbey Road Studios in February 1963, and released on 22nd March 1963.
Let It Be showcases the music of the world's most successful rock'n'roll band, in a spectacular theatrical concert charting the band's meteoric rise from their humble beginnings in Liverpool's Cavern Club, through the height of Beatlemania, to their later studio masterpieces. It is the first time that the Grand Theatrical Rights to The Beatles' back catalogue have been granted by Sony/ATV for a West End production.
