According to Doncaster Free Press, Sheridan Smith has landed a coveted role in a musical film which is still under wraps. Sheridan’s Mum Marilyn said “The new film has yet to be formally announced but Sheridan’s really delighted with it and so is her agent. All I can say is that it’s a musical, so Sheridan will be singing. She’s excited.”
Sheridan will return to the West End later this year to play Titania in A Midsummer Night’s Dream alongside David Walliams. She recently starred in a film alongside Maggie Smith, Quartet and has begun work on a TV drama Dates Later this year she will fly to Turkey to star in a comedy film, Belly Dancing for Beginners. On top of all that, Sheridan has just finished filming a new series of Jonathan Creek.
Sheridan's Mum also said that Sheridan is “delighted, honoured and petrified” to be hosting the Olivier Awards at the Royal Opera House in London on 28th April. “It’s a prestigious event but quite nerve wracking for her,” said Marilyn, who will be there on the night with husband Colin.
