According to E! News, Tina Fey has confirmed at the Screen Actors Guild Awards that there are plans to adapt Mean Girls into a musical. The actress, who wrote and starred in the hit 2004 movie, apparently said that a musical version of the story could be made. Please remember nothing has yet been confirmed
"We want to!" she said. "I would love to, yeah. I'm trying to develop it with my husband, who does all the music for 30 Rock. And I think Paramount's on board."
Tina Fey also revealed that she "loved" watching Nicki Minaj and Mariah Carey feud over who knows Mean Girls the best on the recent season premiere of American Idol. "I think Mariah won!" she said. "Mariah seems to really know - she knew all the characters... Maybe she can play Amy Poehler's part [of Regina George's mum] in the musical, Queen Mariah."
There were recently rumours that Bend it like Beckham would be turned into a musical.
