Since appearing on Britain’s Got Talent In June 2011, Edward Reid has had a very successful career as a singer, performer and host. He released the “Twinkle Twinkle EP” which included the infamous nursery rhyme and earlier this year completed a two week run at the Edinburgh Fringe with his one man show Living The Dream One Song At A Time. Later this month he is bringing the show to London for the very first time. Edward chats to West End Frame about recently winning Best Fringe Show at the 2012 Radio Forth Awards, bringing his show to London and what advice he would give to any aspiring performers.
How does it feel to have won Best Fringe Show at the 2012 Radio Forth Awards?
Oh it’s amazing. It’s so humbling and very satisfying at the same time. I am now in love with Forth FM and their listeners.

Did you enjoy your stint in Edinburgh with your 'Living The Dream One Song At A Time' show?
I did. I found it extremely challenging. There is so much competition, but it was amazing to be part of something so big. Meeting other acts was amazing too. We built a great relationship with them, going flyering with them and keeping each other going by feeding each other sweets.
Are you looking forward to bringing the show to London later this month?
Yes, very! Don’t get me wrong I am nervous. My very first one man show in London. But I know the audience will be amazing and treat me very gently.
Why should people come and see your show?
People should see my show because it’s honest and funny (so I’m told!) But it’s full of songs from such an array of genres. Musicals to folk to 90’s dance. The amazing Eamonn O’Dwyer and Katy Lipson (who is also the producer) have arranged some great stuff.
What do you think you would be doing now if you hadn't become a performer?
Oh time for the cliché but a hairdresser. I think hairdressers are the most powerful people in the country. They can make or break you for two weeks with a bad or good cut. I fancy doing a bit of life coaching too. I was made for positivity.
When did you decide that you wanted to be a performer?
Actually if you come to my show you will find out!!! HAHA! I was a late starter. I never had the confidence to think I could be a performer. But I got promoted into management at work and that gave me the push to take the leap.
What advice would you give to any aspiring performers?
My advice would be while training your voice or learning new techniques in dance or acting you also need to spend time on yourself. Getting to the point when you don’t throw up before an audition or dread being in front of an audience. Believe in yourself.
What is next for you?
I have several things in the pipeline. Nothing concrete yet. Some things involving America that are really floating my boat and working more for the gay cruise ship I worked for earlier this year. I had a ball.
Finally, what would you like to say to all of your fans who have supported you throughout your career?
Thank you to begin with. I am truly grateful to everyone who has ever came to see me, sent a message on Facebook, Twitter or via my website, and bought my CD. I do what I do to entertain myself… but the fact that people enjoy it is just unbelievable. I love every single one of them!
