Review: Abigail's Party at the Wyndham's Theatre

Abigail's Party
Wyndham's Theatre
Performance: Friday 3rd August 2012

If you want a laugh then you need to make sure you see Abigail's Party before 1st September 2012! The show is cleverly written and superbly acted.

Jill Halfpenny is definitely the star of the show. Her over the top portrayal of Beverly is hilarious to watch. Just as you think her character can't get any more over the top... she becomes more over the top. Jill Halfpenny deserves an award for her performance.

There is no doubt about it, Natalie Casey is a comedy genius. She built up a very clever relationship with the audience so that the audience felt sorry for her but could still laugh at her. Playing Angela is a complete contrast to her last role of Paulette in Legally Blonde which shows what a versatile actress she is.

While Joe Absolom's part seemed much smaller than the others, his performance of Tony was still good. I felt Andy Nyman should of held back slightly at the beginning of the show but his performance of Laurence was still strong and incredibly funny. Finally Susannah Harker gave a great performance as Susan. Her attention to detail was fantastic.

This is a great play, with a great cast and is not to be missed!
