According the Daily Mail's Baz Bamigboye, Philip Quast will play Judge Turpin in Sweeney Todd at the London Coliseum. If this gossip is true, Quast will star alongside the previously announced Bryn Terfel and Emma Thompson as Sweeney and Mrs. Lovett.
The show runs for just 13 performances between 30th March and 12th April with press night on 31st March. The ENO orchestra, conducted by David Charles Abell, will appear on stage alongside the cast in this semi-staged production.
Best known for starring Javert in Les Miserables, Quast has won the Laurence Olivier Award for Best Actor in a Musical three times. He starred alongside Terfel and Thompson in the New York Philharmonic production of Sweeney Todd at Lincoln Center earlier this year.
