A View from the Bridge confirms details of West End transfer

Mark Strong (pictured right) will lead the cast as Eddie Carbone in the West End transfer of Arthur Miller’s A View from the Bridge

Ivo van Hove’s Young Vic production will open at the Wyndham’s Theatre on 16th February 2015 (previews from 11th February) for a strictly limited eight week season until 11th April 2015.

A View from the Bridge opened at the Young Vic in April where the production enjoyed an extended sell-out run.

Strong is joined by fellow original cast members Emun Elliott as Marco, Phoebe Fox as Catherine, Michael Gould as Alfieri, Luke Norris as Rodolpho and Nicola Walker as Beatrice. Design and lighting is by Jan Versweyveld with costumes designs by An D’Huys.

David Lan (Young Vic Artistic Director) said: "Our Young Vic audiences were in no doubt that this is truly the production of a lifetime. I am thrilled so many more people will share this exceptional experience. We’re delighted to be playing in the West End for the third year in a row, welcoming new audiences to the style and ambition of the Young Vic."

Arthur Miller confronts the American dream in this dark and passionate tale. In Brooklyn, longshoreman Eddie Carbone welcomes his Sicilian cousins to the land of freedom. But when one of them falls for his beautiful niece, they discover that freedom comes at a price. Eddie’s jealous mistrust exposes a deep, unspeakable secret – one that drives him to commit the ultimate betrayal.
