Gina Beck to play Glinda in first North American tour of Wicked!

It has been announced that West End star Gina Beck will join the first North American tour of Wicked as Glinda, she recently finished a two year stint playing the role in the West End production. Gina will star opposite Alison Luff as Elphaba.


Gina will join the show on Monday 16th December in Chicago, marking her US debut. The performer's West End credits include: Christine Daaé in The Phantom of the Opera and Cosette in Les Miserables. She has also appeared in: Doctors, The Return of Sherlock Holmes, The Crust! and the Les Miserables film.

Wicked has already been seen by over 38 million people worldwide and grossed in excess of $3.1 billion at the Box Office. By the end of 2013, the global phenomenon will have been performed in over 100 cities in 13 countries around the world (United States, Canada, United Kingdom, Ireland, Japan, Germany, Holland, Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, South Korea, The Philippines, and Mexico) and has been translated into five languages: Japanese, German, Dutch, Spanish and Korean.

Wicked continues its record breaking West End run at the Apollo Victoria Theatre. The production recently celebrated its 3,000th performance and became the 15th longest running musical in West End history. At present the production stars: Willemijn Verkaik (Elphaba), Savannah Stevenson (Glinda), Jeremy Taylor (Fiyero), Sue Kelvin (Madame Morrible), Sam Kelly (The Wizard), Paul Clarkson (Doctor Dillamond); Sam Lupton (Boq), Katie Rowley Jones (Nessarose), Emma Hatton (Standby Elphaba) and Sophie Linder-Lee (Standby Glinda).
