Andy Mientus and Charlotte Maltby join Ramin Karimloo and Caissie Levy in Broadway revival of Les Miserables

It has been announced that Smash star Andy Mientus and newcomer Charlotte Maltby  have been cast in the Broadway revival of Alain Boublil and Claude-Michel Schönberg's Tony Award-winning musical Les Misérables.

Andy Mientus (Broadway debut, Spring Awakening national tour, Off-Broadway's Carrie) and Charlotte Maltby (Broadway debut, Les Mis at the St. Louis Muny, current musical theatre student at the University of Michigan) will play Marius and Cosette in the production, which will begin performances on 1st March 2014 at the Imperial Theatre. 

As previously announced, West End star Ramin Karimloo (current Toronto star of Les Misérables, The Phantom of the Opera, Love Never Dies) will star as Jean Valjean with Tony Award nominee Will Swenson (Hair, Priscilla Queen of the Desert, Little Miss Sunshine) as Javert, West End and Broadway actress Caissie Levy (Ghost, Hair, Murder Ballad) as Fantine and Tony Award winner Nikki M. James (The Book of Mormon, Fetch Clay, Make Man) as Eponine.

The original New York production of Les Misérables premiered at the Broadway Theatre in March 1987 and later moved to the Imperial Theatre in October 1990 where it played until May 2003 for a total Broadway run of 6,680 performances.

Additional casting will be announced in the coming weeks.
