Carley Stenson joins Spamalot as The Lady of the Lake

Carley Stenson (pictured right) joins the West End production of Spamalot at the Playhouse Theatre from tonight (4th November) as The Lady of the Lake, taking over from Bonnie Langford.

The former Hollyoaks star has previously played Elle Woods in Legally Blonde (Savoy), Princess Fiona in Shrek (Theatre Royal, Drury Lane) and most recently made her Edinburgh Fringe debut in the UK premiere of [title of show].

Carley: “I’ve always enjoyed performing on the West End stage and I’m very much looking forward to joining the Spamalot cast and being part of such a much loved production.”

The cast now features: Carley Stenson, Robin Armstrong, James Bisp, Michael Burgen, Rob Delaney, Samuel Holmes, Conan House, Anouska Eaton, Persephone Fitzpatrick, Steffan Harri, Chris Jenkins, Nikki Bentley, Graham Newell and Matthew Russell-Jones.

Lovingly ripped off from the classic film comedy Monty Python and the Holy Grail, Spamalot tells the legendary tale of King Arthur and the Knights of the Round Table and features a bevy (or possibly a brace) of beautiful show girls, witch burnings (cancelled due to health and safety) not to mention cows, killer rabbits and French people.

The show features fantastic tunes more magical than a Camelot convention, including He Is Not Dead Yet, Knights of the Round Table,Find Your Grail and of course the Nation’s Favourite Comedy Song (Reader’s Digest Poll 2010 - before it went bust), Always Look On The Bright Side Of Life.

Spamalot is currently booking at the Playhouse Theatre until 8th February 2014.
