Oliver Awards: Ronan Keating & Kimberley Walsh At The Olivier's - a controversial performance...

So the Olivier awards saw many incredible performances from West End stars and incredible singers so when Ronan Keating wondered on stage I did wonder if he has walked through the wrong door. His performance was OK however did not meet the standard of the other West End Stars who performed on that stage. Then I was intrigued when Kimberly Walsh joined him to sing No Matter What written by Andrew Loyd Webber. Kimberly had a very sweet voice but it didn't sound very strong.

West End performers were outraged. Ruthie Stephens who covered Paulette in Legally Blonde and is currenting in rehearsals for Starlight Express tweeted "She didn't know her harmonies then so pulled the mic away so she couldn't be heard! At least she has some technique! " and rewteeted messages saying "She's a lead in the west end!! What a joke!!!!" and "shame the mics worked for that wasn't it!!!". Harsh however I would have much rather have heard Ruthie Stephens' belt out her Ireland reprise from Legally Blonde.

Make up your own mind, listen to the performance below
