Review: Hennessy & Friends: A History of Violence at the 2012 Edinburgh Fringe Festival

Hennessy & Friends: A History of Violence
2012 Edinburgh Fringe Festival
Underbelly, Bristo Square
Performance: Friday 24th August 2012

"A man awakes in his own basement - bound, beaten and tormented by a masked figure armed with a finger puppet... So begins a violent whirlwind of Dutch salesmen, ageing Disney Princesses, environmentalist foxes and a sickeningly good little boy named Jimmy."

I'm not quite sure how to describe Hennessy & Friends: A History of Violence. I can't quite find the words. The cast were amazing, probably three of the best comedy actors I have ever seen.

There is something quite special about Miranda Hennessy (E4's PhoneShop, C4's This Just In, BBC2's Dick and Dom's Funny Business). I don't think that there is anything she can't do and this show is perfect for her as it enables her to show off how versatile she is.

The two guys, David Seymour (Law & Order, Love Bite) and Steven Shapland (Harry & Paul) are also incredibly funny.

This Sketch Show is a must see, I didn't find any of the sketch's boring and they were all as funny as each other. What is clever about this show is they know what the audience want. They brought back all the characters that were the funniest which makes a lot of sense!

I don't really want to give any more away so if you have the chance make sure you head down to Underbelly, Bristo Square to see this hilarious show!
