Singin' In The Rain
2012 London Cast Recording
First Night Records

What I love most about the 2012 London cast recording of Singin' In The Rain is that it is more than just a cast recording. It is also an album containing great vocalists singing great versions of classic songs. The album captures the magic of the show which is not something cast albums always manage to achieve.
I love the fact that the 'Overture' is included on the album. It shows off the fabulous orchestrations and really gets you into the mood of the show. Singin' In The Rain stands out from other jukebox musicals as it still manages to create a unique sound that is consistent throughout the entire score.
Adam Cooper and Daniel Crossley both sound great on the album but for me it is Scarlett Strallen who really stands out. She sings with such depth and emotion and has a beautiful tone to her voice. The whole cast are outstanding and I love listening the big cast numbers.
My favourite tracks on the album include 'Make 'Em Laugh', 'Beautiful Girl', 'You Are My Lucky Star' and 'Broadway Ballet'. After a couple of listens you will not be able to get these songs out of your head!
This is a fantastic album and is not only a must have for any fans of the show but also for people who love listening to the old classics.
